Show of hands, how many of you have heard of Delta Goodrem? (Without having to consult Google)

It devastates me how underrated Delta is at a global level. Ask anyone on the street in Australia and they will be able to rattle off song titles and details about her time on The Voice AU, but ask someone in LA (where Delta has been living for the last few years) and they are unlikely to know her as much other than Nick Jonas' ex (if that!)
Delta Goodrem is an Australia singer-songwriter who has achieved multi-platinum and beyond status many times over. Her first single; Born To Try was a triple platinum. She has released 5 major albums, as well a Christmas EP and a 10th anniversary re-release of her first album Innocent Eyes.

She has had several sold out concert tours across Australia and has also performed in the UK and Japan.
She has been a coach on the Voice AU for several years now, also doing a stint on The Voice Kids. She starred on Neighbours in the early 2000s, before her musical career took off.

I was lucky enough to meet Delta a few years ago at her CD signing in Sydney.
Delta has a knack for somehow just reaching into my soul, pulling out emotions and turning them into hit songs. I'm not saying it has been one or two, I am saying that more than half of her most recent album; Wings of the Wild resonate with me on a level that makes me believe in some kind of psychic connection.
Her songs talk about love and hardship and philosophical ideas. Each one written by Delta herself, she really gets raw and naked with her music and it reaches people in a way that lets us know that we are not alone!
As a writer, that is my greatest dream! I just want to reach someone in the way Delta has always reached me. I want to bring tears to someone's eyes as they read my words and realise that they are not alone; that someone else out there has felt what they are feeling and that it will be ok!
Delta has faced a myriad of hardships in her life, but she pushed on and survived them all. From heartbreak to cancer. She only got stronger. She went from the girl who was "Lost without you" to the "Feline feline, fear the feline".
One of her recent singles titled Dear Life, talks about the way we all feel sometimes. Are we doing this right? Are we on the right path? Making the right choices?
"Love will change you, no matter if you stay with them, you'll never be the same again. You've shown me magic, highs I've never felt before, memories that I thank you for from deep in my soul."
This line felt so honest to me. It mirrored how I felt about a past relationship so aptly. It doesn't matter how long it lasts, a relationship changes you somehow. There is a mark left behind, a part of you altered by the other person. Despite how it might end, that is something to acknowledge and to be thankful for. There were lessons learnt in that time. Lessons that wouldn't have been learnt otherwise. I think that is how we truly move on; by acknowledging that despite things not working out, there was once something there that mattered and that had an impact on you.
We all go through things; whether they be at work, school, at home or wherever, when we feel inadequate. We all have felt like we are not enough. To anyone who may be feeling that way right now, I share this video. The music video for Enough Ft. Gizzle. Enjoy!
